Meet Our Team

  • Honey de Mele (she/her) is the sweet glamour clown of the East Coast! With a background in musical theatre Honey definitely has a flair for the dramatic…and comedic. Co-producer of Blue Lobster Burlesque and board member of The Atlantic Burlesque Festival, Honey is proud to be working to help promote and uplift Burlesque in Halifax and the Atlantic Provinces. She was last seen on the Neptune stage as Magenta in the Rocky Horror Show, has performed with Neo Novas, Dis Drag, Crescent Moon Cabaret, Clue at the Halifax Fringe and twice at Hal-Con.

    Honey’s burlesque journey began by creating Theatre Inamorata’s Virgin Burlesque fundraiser. She has taught across Nova Scotia and performed as an actor across the country.

  • Oliver Twisted (he/him) is a theatrical neo-boylesquer with a passion for the absurd, creative costume design and fully immersive shows. He has been active in the Halifax burlesque scene since 2020 and is thrilled to contribute to the further development of our community. He is co-chair of the Atlantic Burlesque Co-operative, and the producer and co-founder of Atlantic Boylesque. He is incredibly proud of his troupe of misfits who were 2023 Silver Winners in the Coast’s Best of Halifax for Best Dance Company/Group. Oliver is profoundly appreciative to have the opportunity to live and work in Mi’kma’ki because of its beautiful coastal environments, wild interiors, rich artistic culture and supportive community vibes.

  • Kyann Pepper (she/her) is a master of balance in both the corporate and creative realms. By day, she works in accounting, building spreadsheets and counting dough. In the evenings she works toward her Bachelor of Business Administration at Crandall University.

    Kyann is also an aerial artist and devoted instructor at The Studio Aerial Arts and Fitness in Moncton, NB. Her passion for elevating others extends to her baby, TalentNB. An entrepreneurial spirit all her life has led Kyann to create her own production company in 2022. Since its creation, TalentNB has successfully produced several sold out shows. With a unique blend of professional poise and artistic flair, Kyann’s journey is an inspiring fusion of corporate chaos and creative expression.

  • The Lady Corbeau (she/her) is an award winning Burlesque Performer, emcee and producer residing in Halifax / Kjipuktuk. She co-produces the Neo Novas, and is an active member of The Atlantic Burlesque Co-operative, Blue Lobster Burlesque, and Serpentine Studios. She independently produces shows on the side, notably the three times sold out "Clue: A Murderlesque Mystery” , which introduced full burlesque showcases to Halifax Fringe Festival. She has performed on stages throughout the Maritimes, Ontario, and internationally at the infamous Slipper Room in New York City.

    Blurring the lines between classic showgirl and comedic pop culture references, she is always bringing sexy and strange to each stage she finds herself on. She has been performing live Burlesque since 2017, and her other works have been published in magazines and art books worldwide since 2006.

  • Elle Lixir (she/her) is a Chinese-Canadian neo-burlesque artist born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and currently based in Halifax, NS. She took a deep dive into the art in 2021 when she joined Halifax’s Neo Novas Burlesque troupe. In 2022, Elle was voted third place in Imperial Burlesque Canada’s, “I Did My Best From My Living Room” virtual category. Recently, she was nominated for a 2024 Silver Tusk Award for “Nerdlesque Nobility”. She also enjoys producing shows including “HOT POT: An All-Asian Variety Showcase” and “The Burlesque Dating Game” which was completely scripted, and co-written with Cyd Chartreuse, and was featured at the 2022 Halifax Fringe Festival). Since her debut, she has performed on stages across Canada and screens across the world. She is so excited to be a part of the Atlantic Burlesque Co-operative team and launch the inaugural Atlantic Burlesque Festival!

  • Worker bee by day, and a bag of seduction by night, Beef Pattie is a black mixed with black with a splash of sass performer, who gives viewers an experience no one wants to miss but only a few can handle. Part masc, part fem, full fool, Pattie loves to add a little comedic flare and genderfuck essence anytime they hit the stage. The newest member of the Neo Novas, Beef Pattie continues to leave audience members of all kinds, in awe. Reminding you that amazing things come in big packages and Pattie is bursting at the seams. Your boyfriend, girlfriend and sweeties in between are hungry for Beef Pattie.

  • Newfound Lad (he/they/she) is a burlesque/drag performer, educator and dance artist currently based between Toronto/Tkaronto, ON and Newfoundland/Ktaqmkuk. After earning his BFA in Dance in 2017, Lad began performing burlesque by joining BoylesqueTO, Canada’s Premiere Boylesque Troupe. Since then they have performed, taught and toured across North America. Highlights include the Toronto and Vancouver Burlesque Festivals as well as the Burlesque Hall of Fame (Las Vegas, NV). Most recently they headlined for Frostease Burlesque in Anchorage, AK. Drag entered their artistic practice in 2020 after a move home to NL during the pandemic. They’ve quickly blossomed into a Draglesque entertainer carving their own unique path in the art form. They recently competed on Season 2 of OutTV’s “Call Me Mother.” Newfound Lad seeks to blur the lines of gender, play on Newfoundland/nautical themes and be god damn entertaining. Newfound Lad is ready to hook, line and sink their way into your heart.

  • The Hunchback of Notre GLAM! Burlesque performer MissShapen (She/her) puts the "oh!" in scoliosis. She has a couple of extra curves, and loves boosting body diversity in burlesque with her twisted spine and twisted ways. If you like your sultry with a side order of silly, MissShapen is sure to please your palate.

    MissShapen has been involved in the burlesque community as a Stage Kitten and performer since 2017, and is the 2020 High Heel Award recipient of the Golden Tassel award for Best Burlesque as well as the 2023 Imperial Burlesque Canada award for Best Stage Kitten. She had her international debut (virtually) as part of the 2021 DisabiliTease Festival.

    Part of MissShapen's purpose onstage is to increase visibility for persons with scoliosis, and to raise awareness and acceptance of this condition.

  • Vanessa Buttercup, a whirlwind of retro charm, mixing nerdlesque and classic burlesque. Picture her pondering over a sci-fi book while grooving to the twist, synchronized swimming with dolphins who know the meaning of life the universe and everything or crash landing a spaceship with no engine or wings all to a jazzy 60's tune. As she navigates the sparkling universe of burlesque, she promises a spectacle filled with giggles and jiggles.
