You have no idea what you’re in for, a chance to hear stories from Judith herself about her career, the history and development of burlesque here and in the states. She’ll make you laugh and share personal anecdotes, probably spill a little tea…who knows?

Moderated by local self-professed Burlesque history nerd and founder of Blue Lobster Burlesque Kay Licious, this promises to be a highlight of the Festival.

There is no fee for this event, but seating is limited and first come first serve so set an alarm!

In this 60-minute workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of moving gracefully and sensually in heels, with a focus on techniques that will complement your burlesque performances.

First, we will work on perfecting your walk, showing off the beautiful lines of your body, and getting spicy with some floorwork. Then we’ll put it all together and learn a short combination so you can show off everything you’ve learned.

Learn rhinestoning basics & techniques from Miami Minx, a burlesque artist, who, over the span of 8 years, has worked on honing his hi-glam costume embellishment skills.In this lecture style workshop, Miami will teach you the "A, B, Cs" of rhinestoning to bring your costuming game to the next sparkle level! He will go over essential rhinestoning materials (glues, stones, tools, etc), resources for stones he works with, & his approach to planning out a rhinestone design job.This workshop is open to anyone (18+) curious about burlesque costuming. Experienced burlesque artists are welcome to attend to get Miami's take on how he approaches rhinestoning & costuming and to make new connections. Be prepared to leave with some dazzling bits of information!

Unlike Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lulu can’t do the splits. But what Lulu does have are a very particular set of skills, skills she has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make her a dreamboat for nerds like you.

This workshop will give you tips & tricks to create geeky burlesque acts and make your favorite characters come to life on stage. All nerds welcome!

An equal parts dance, character, and concept building workshop where we work on the approach of all these elements for and act and how we can string them together. Also understanding that these elements don't need to be present in equal parts any or every time. Half lecture/open forum, half dance intensive."
